Lykke grew up in Denmark, but retained a strong connection to her Greenlandic roots through her mother's side of the family. Her mother's family is from Aasiaat in western Greenland near the southern end of Disko Bay. Lykke's grandparents raised four daughters and two sons in a traditional hunting family. Her uncles still live as fishermen and hunters in Nuuk.
Lykke moved to Greenland when she was 19. Over the next eight years she lived in Narsaq, Qaqortoq and Nuuk. Ever since, Greenland has been a part of Lykke's life – both personally and professionally.
Lykke launched Sila Greenland DMC in June 2018 in partnership with Lars Hejlskov, who is responsible for administration and business development.
